Fort Collins Prescription Drug Abuse Lawyer

EFFECTIVE CRIMINAL DEFENSE STRATEGIES
Drugs are often prescribed to patients to help manage their pain and suffering. But misusing prescription drugs can have dire consequences. In the state of Colorado, it is illegal to possess or use prescription drugs for recreational purposes. While the FDA has approved many of these types of drugs for legitimate use, it’s easy for people to become heavily addicted to pharmaceuticals, such as oxycodone, vicodin, fentanyl, or codeine. It is important to note that many pharmaceutical drugs people become addicted to are considered Schedule II, putting them in the same category as cocaine.

The act of administering illegal prescriptions, abusing prescription drugs, and forging the prescriptions are all serious offenses that can land you with heavy fines and some time in jail. But then again, drug addiction is a problem that’s not easy to cure. Even with rehabilitation, the road to recovery is long and hard. Moreover, involvement in such crimes damages your reputation, and you might struggle to find a suitable job in the future as well.

Under such circumstances, a narcotics defense lawyer may be able to help your case if you have been charged with crimes involving prescription drugs.

Fort Collins Prescription Drug Laws

In Fort Collins, Colorado, the laws regarding prescription drugs are strict. The punishments vary depending on the nature of the crime and the number of drugs involved. The type of drug used also plays a part in determining the outcome of the charges.

The most commonly abused prescription drugs include:

• Xanax
• Oxycodone
• Valium
• OxyContin
• Steroids
• Ritalin
• Vicodin

According to Colorado laws, if you’re involved in one or more of the following crimes, you may be penalized with a fine ranging from $5000 to $100,000, with jail time varying from 6 months to 5 years. Moreover, you may also have your pharmacist or medical license revoked. Here are some acts that can lead to charges:

• Stealing or secretly using a prescription pad from a doctor
• Altering or forging prescriptions
• Prescribing medications for non-medical purposes
• Prescribing medication without authorization from relevant authorities
• Misuse of prescription medication
• Distribution of prescription medication for recreational purposes

I've been going to Liggett, Johnson & Goodman for close to a decade now, I've worked with David Johnson in the past, but mostly with Gail Goodman. They've always done a fantastic job, been very friendly and professional, and have given me invaluable advice. I can't thank them enough for all they've done to help me and my family.

Liggett , Johnson and Goodman all but give you the results you’re looking for. At the end of the day the $ they ask for is excessive, especially when you’re given sub par results. 40 for 1/2 hour for an email conversation because of the current pandemic! I also have yet to understand why my account when from positive 193.32 to negative 600.00 in one month due to their very confusing and highly misleading billing statements. LMAO it must have been a lot of emailing that month! With the resources available today, you can research most of the information they give you and SAVE your $ and your time. Don’t get stuck paying these people’s house payments! I recommend hiring them for as little work as possible, or not at all!
